Program

Our Program

Country Kids is open from 6:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. Breakfast is from 7:00-8:30, morning snack is at 9:30, lunch is at 11:30, and afternoon snack is at 2:30, 3:30 for the school-agers. Nap time is from 12:30-2:30. All meals, snacks, and drinks are provided for the kids.


The Infant Room {6 weeks – 12 months}

ITEMS TO BRING:

  • Unopened package of diapers, wipes, and diaper ointment
  • A couple changes of clothes
  • Two or Three complete bottles which we sanitize and reuse
  • Formula or Breastmilk {unless you are using the center formula provide}

PERSONAL SPACES:

  • Each child will receive their own cubby space that has storage for their extra sets of clothing along with storage containers for diapers, wipes, and diaper ointment.  Each baby will have a storage container for the items that must be sanitized on a regular basis such as bottles, nipples, and pacifiers.
  • Every items that is brought in will be labeled with that child’s information and keep in their personal spaces. 
  • Please note that diaper bags are not allowed in the room but we can place on car seat rack.

DAILY ROUTINE:
    Once upon enrollment each parent is to fill out a feeding plan {signed by pediatrician} for their child. Teachers will follow the child’s feeding plan when it comes to bottles, snacks, and meals until instructed otherwise by parents.

  • Every day the baby will have a daily sheet that informs parents of the child’s schedule throughout the day. This daily sheet includes bottles {times & ounces}, sleeping times, diaper changes {every 2 hours unless needed sooner}, and any other comments or concerns that the teacher might want the parents to know. It will also inform parents when they are getting low on diapers, wipes, or anything else the child might need.

DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES:
    The teacher will do activities with the babies such as tummy time, music/singing, reading books, working on head control, sitting up, rolling over, crawling, and walking. We do arts and crafts with them as well that help with sensory stimulation and give the parents memorabilia.   We follow the Foundation to Indiana Academic Standards for ages Birth to Five Years.

The 1’s Classroom {12months -24 months}

ITEMS TO BRING:

  • Unopened package of diapers, wipes, and diaper ointment
  • Couple changes of clothes
  • Nap time items {blanket, fitted crib sheet, comforting items}

PERSONAL SPACE:

  • Each child will receive their personal space with cubby, diaper storage, and nap time cot with storage. 
  • Child’s items will be labeled and placed in proper storage containers

DAILY ROUTINES:

  • Teachers record each child’s daily schedule on their own daily sheet that goes home with parents everyday with the following information: Meals, Snacks, Diaper changes {every 2 hours unless needed sooner}, nap time, outside times, and any other comments or concerns that teachers believe the parents need to know.

CURRICULUM:
    In our 1’s classroom we begin teaching the children how to sit together for circle time which consists of ABC’s, counting, shapes, colors, days of the week, and months of the year.  Some other areas that we focus on with them is story time, nursery rhymes, sharing, communicating using sign language and our words, coloring, cutting, and more life necessity skills that help them develop. We follow the Foundation to Indiana Academic Standards for ages Birth to Five Years.

The 2’s Classroom {24 months – 36 months}

ITEMS TO BRING:

  • Unopened package of diapers, wipes, and diaper ointment
  • Couple changes of clothes
  • Nap Time items {blankets, fitted crib sheet, and comforting items}

PERSONAL SPACE:

  • Each will be assigned a cubby, storage container for diapers, wipes, diaper ointment, and nap time cot with storage for nap items.
  • Child’s items will be labeled and placed in the proper storage containers.

DAILY ROUTINES:

  • Teachers record each child’s daily schedule on their own daily sheet that goes home with parents everyday with the following information: Meals, Snacks, Diaper changes {every 2 hours unless needed sooner}, nap time, outside times, and any other comments or concerns that teachers believe the parents need to know.

CURRICULUM:
    Teachers work with children on their ABC’s, counting, shapes, colors, days of the week, months of the year and nursery rhymes during their circle times in the morning and afternoon. The children will also work on fine gross motor skills, sharing, working together as a group, potty training, cutting, pasting, following directions, eating with utensils and regular cups, and singing/dancing. We follow the Foundation to Indiana Academic Standards for ages Birth to Five Years.

The 3’s Classroom {36 months – 48 months}

ITEMS TO BRING:

  • Unopened packages of pullups, wipes, diaper ointment {if child still uses it}
  • Couple changes of clothes
  • Nap Time items {blanket, fitted crib sheet & comforting items}

PERSONAL SPACES:
    Each child’s belongings will be labeled with their name and placed in separate cubbies and/or cots. They will also have their mailboxes with their school work from that day for parents to pick up.

DAILY ROUTINES:
    Each child will have a daily sheet that has information reporting to parents some of the activities throughout that day along with meals, snacks, potty times, nap time, outside times, as well as any comments or concerns the parents might need to know.

CURRICULUM:
     In the 3’s class the kids continue to work on and master what they learned in the 2’s room and also learn: letter sounds, writing: letters, numbers, & shapes, all about money, how to color in the lines and much more. The class still focuses on sharing, being kind to friends, and independent clean up.

The Pre-Kindergarten Class

ITEMS TO BRING:

  • Change of clothes
  • Nap Time items {blanket, fitted crib sheet, and comforting items}

PERSONAL SPACE:
    Each child will receive a cubby space for jacket, bag, and extra set of clothing. The child will also have a desk that they will keep all of their schoolwork and materials.

CURRICULUM:
    Each day they work on different worksheets so they master writing letters, numbers, and their name. They learn the basic sight words that they will learn in kindergarten, Indian Creek’s kindergarten teachers call these “popcorn words”. They learn the difference between upper case and lower case letters, and how to recognize and form patterns. They also learn their address, phone number, etc. We work with the Indian Creek kindergarten teachers to ensure that our Country Kids are as ready for kindergarten as possible.
